FAQ

Good questions.

Straight answers to the questions business owners ask us most.

01How long does company registration take?

Once your documents are ready and the name is approved, SSM registration is usually quick — often within a few working days. We confirm the timeline for your case at the start.

02What documents do I need?

Usually IC or passport copies of directors and shareholders, your proposed company name, business address and shareholding details. We send you a simple checklist.

03What is the difference between Sdn. Bhd. and sole proprietorship?

A sole proprietorship is simple to set up, but the owner is personally liable for its debts. A Sdn. Bhd. is a separate legal entity with limited liability, and has more ongoing compliance — such as a company secretary and annual returns.

04Can foreigners register a company in Malaysia?

Yes. Foreigners can own and direct a Sdn. Bhd., but the company needs at least one director who ordinarily resides in Malaysia. Some business activities also need licences or minimum capital — we check this with you first.

05What happens after my company is registered?

Your company must appoint a company secretary within 30 days, keep statutory registers and lodge an annual return every year. We can handle all of this for you.

06Can you help with company secretary services?

Yes — company secretarial work has been our principal activity since 2001. We can act as your company secretary from day one.
